Description
I recently swapped a car of mine for this, and have decided it's not my thing, and is surplus to my needs.
132k, automatic with MOT that expires 25th February 2023.
Grey with grey cloth interior, and black panel trim. Fairly dull as far as E46s go but the earlier prefacelift cars have gotten quite rare now.
Registered in Glasgow when new, and seemed to spend a while there before heading south and now residing with me in Basingstoke.
I drove it 130 miles today and it seems fine on all roads and in stop/ start traffic too. Brakes fine, goes fine, handles like an E46, you get the picture.
Gearbox seems okay, it is neither buttery smooth nor is it like having G forces ripple through you when it changes gear.
Seems to have escaped any serious rust but there is signs of it appearing on the rear arches.
Cosmetic defects can be seen in the photos, but it is fairly tidy overall given it's never really been cherished.
Airbag light on. Low brake pad light on due to sensor being damaged when the pads were last done.
Sometimes you need to jiggle the gearstick when in park to get the ignition barrel to release the key, but it's nothing dramatic.
As you can see, a rear window regulator has failed. I can renew the tape for the new owner but I cannot do more than that, as I would almost certainly cause the glass to drop or something!
Interior is overall quite tidy, some marks to the seats and soft plastics inside but I have seen far worse in these.
It's a cheap BMW that doesn't seem to want to explode, and has a fair wedge of MOT left. The price reflects the car, and vice versa.
I won't use the word investment as it probably isn't but they aren't really super common anymore and this one is ultimate rep mobile spec (well, the rep who wanted petrol anyway).
Cruise control works, as does the air con.
Please message me first for information, no calls. Thanks!
I am open to a swap for a Fiat/ Alfa or Peugeot. Nothing dull though.
