Beskrivning
This is an April 1968 (“F” Reg) Norton Atlas (750cc, Slimline Featherbed frame, short Roadholder forks).
The bike was the subject of a nut and bolt re-build that I finished in 2017. Since then it has done less than 1000 miles.
I have invoices for over £7500, so it would be unrealistic to list all work carried out. The main features are:
• Matching Frame and Engine numbers.
• Engine rebuilt: bores are Standard with no measurable wear; crank had slight ovality so was reground to 10 thou under; unleaded exhaust valves fitted; mains replaced; timing chains replaced.
• Gearbox rebuilt: new internals and bearings.
• Original front brake replaced with Commando 2LS unit.
• New Fork Stanchions.
• Borrani Rims, rebuilt with stainless spokes by Hagon.
• Hagon Rear Shocks.
• Zener Diode replaced with solid state unit.
• New, upgraded Alternator.
• Rita Ignition.
• New Premier Mk 1 Concentrics. (Because these were replaced in 2017 (post 2011) they will be ethanol-safe.)
• Stainless fasteners throughout.
• Alloy Engine Plates. (Originals to be included in sale.)
• Braided Stainless Rocker feed pipe.
• Re-covered seat.
• ‘Silentbloc’ Swinging Arm bushes replaced with Manx type bronze bushes.
• Extensive polishing of alloy parts.
