Lovely little 1991 mx-5 with a custom colour, yamaha purplish blue (completed by coated in worthing). mot to december 2022.
owned for a couple of months with a plan to keep as a daily and but, circumstances have changed quickly and need something more practical. Previous owner had the car for around 10 years.
in my short time with the car it's had a new radiator, thermostat, water pump and belts. All genuine mazda parts. It was running a bit hot and didn't like sitting in traffic - now all fixed and has no issues at all. Previous owner had completed a great restoration, including new sills and arches and the aforementioned custom paintjob.
all work during my ownership carried out by mark at freelance mazda in chatham - mark said the car was really solid and should be great for years to come.
136k miles and the 1. 6 (115bhp) engine runs really nicely, pulls well in all gears. Has mk2 seats fitted for a bit more comfort, as well as a glass/ heated rear screen and mohair hood in great condition. Being a mk2 hood on a mk1 it can be a bit stiff to put up or down, but most much prefer the glass option and heated screen.
currently has just send it custom airvents (crash bandicoot) and new door bushings. Sun visors have been removed and blanking plates put in, but original vents/ bushings/ visors will come with the car.
pioneer bluetooth stereo and upgraded speakers in the doors.
previous owner also installed coilovers and comes with the adjusting tool. Currently set to the softest setting to give a good ride, but still has that classic mx-5 lovely handling.
also has brand new half-cover from moss europe, fits the car perfectly and protects from rain and heat.
heater currently only works on the highest setting but will also come with a new heat control unit that i hadn't got round to putting in yet.
with the bodywork and sills completely done will last for a long time and would be a great base car for someone to mod as they see fit.
will be very sad to see this go as it was one of my dream cars and i finally found the right one, but needs must unfortunately. Would love this to go to a collector or fellow enthusiast.
I think the first to see it will want to drive it away, just like I did!
