Bought from Classic Superbikes, Hampshire about 7 years ago. Below is a copy of the original Classic Superbikes advert:
"A rare, unrestored, genuine BSA Hornet returned from the USA in original condition and prepared for UK road use. This rare 1967 A65HA Hornet was shipped to the East coast of the USA in 1967, from where it was returned to Small Heath unsold in 1968. It was re-exported new from the factory to the USA in 1970 (hence the "Y" on the engine number) where it was sold into a private collection. Correct engine and frame numbers match. V5C all in order and the bike is MOTd and taxed (sellers note - now MOT and tax exempt). According to the one UK owner it was only used at show times and open days, remaining in the private collection until 2005 when it returned to the UK in original specification. So many original features have survived, including Dunlop rims, unrestored tank with ethanol proof sealant and the original stickers on the tank and side panels. In 2011 the bike was refurbished and made ready for the UK. The stator was changed for an RM19 type, twin output coil and podtronic regulator/ rectifier fitted and the energy transfer ignition was replaced with a Pazon electronic system giving full advance/ retard range for flexible road manners. A full engine rebuild in 2012 included 9. 5:1 pistons, a solid phospher bronze timing side bush, new high capacity oil pump and spin on oil filter. Both instruments have been rebuilt and an anti wet sumping valve fitted. The crank was line bored, cylinder head refurbished ported and polished by Roger Taylor Racing. A QD headlamp was also fitted to obtain a full MOT certificate. A pair of exhaust baffles and the original ignition are included in the sale. The bike has only done about 500 miles since the rebuild and running on Rock 40 monograde oil it will take a while to run in after which it will have healthy compression and smoke free running for many many miles. Street Scramblers do not come with more muscle than this absolute beauty."

Since I have owned the bike, it has done very few miles due to a string of unforseen circumstances. In fact, a mere 700 miles only, so I suppose it’s still running in, although the oil has been changed. It is now fitted with a British made alloy fuel tank with fresh paint and stickers. The original tank will be included with the sale. I also have a set of photographs detailing the rebuild in 2012. Unfortunately, I can’t seem to find the baffles after several house moves, but it sounds better without anyway!
