Well known in club circles with only 11k on the clock.
This is a base (known as 'Standard') Austin Metro in Primula yellow.
In my ownership it has had
1. Photographic respray costing £3600 excluding my time in the prior removal of trim and the cost of replacement panels. I was able to source NOS wings and valances (BL stamped)
2. New SS exhaust
3. New hydragas displacers.
3. New window seals.
4. New old stock badges, trims etc.
The car is absolutely standard right down to no radio, cigar lighter and retention of points.
Excluding purchase I have spent well in excess of £7k on it. My enjoyment is the restoration and bringing manufacturing history back to life. I therefore never expect to make money with classic cars, that's not the interest, nor is driving them particularly. The hobby is the restoring and the more lowly the spec the more enjoyable.
I know it is not cheap and you can get an MG Metro for the same or less. But there may be someone who has a particular nostalgia for the car and would be interested, hence my putting it up for potential sale to the right person. A base car is far more scarce and, for that reason, arguably more interesting than the higher models as they weren't saved.
I have the original purchase invoice, some history (but with only 11k on the clock not much) and records relating to the restoration. I have an entire spare matching interior too.
