Description
THIS AMAZING piece of kit is in fact a Messerschmitt KR175 Sport replica. This was the last car built by the late Alan Evans, the founder of Bamby Cars before he closed down the company. It is a one-off replica of the microcar of the mid-1950s. Genuine ones, if you can find one, could cost you as much as 50k! This little gem remains unregistered due to lockdown and waiting lists at government departments.
It is a true pocket rocket with its 125cc twist and go motor. It's a Japanese engine and also 4-stroke. Total reliability. All lights etc work and it has an immobiliser fitted. It also has a chassis plate and a vin number. The plate states that it was built by Bamby Cars Ltd. By the way, they were based in Hull and the company was formed in 1984. Alan Evans was famous for his production of the Bamby car in the 80s and they are now very Collectable microcars. Sadly Alan passed away this year and now this little flying machine is up for sale. Totally unique and believed to be the only one in existence!
It will need an SVA test to become registered and road legal. It may need one or two little tweaks as it has been dry stored for two years. It is a GRP body and still in gel coat colours. Mega fun as you can probably imagine and yes, I have witnessed it flying around the private compound with two people (yes, two!) aboard.
Go on. Dare to be different!
My classic cars are motoring antiques. Please do not confuse them with your one-year-old Range Rover. This car, for example, is 55-years-old and so will have quirks and faults in there somewhere. These are not always apparent when buying and selling classics which is what I do. I do not restore them, nor do I pretend that they are concours cars. The majority of them go out as they came in, and I continue to enjoy finding more - a skill which is becoming increasingly difficult as many of you will be aware. They deserve to be taken on as "family pets" and cared for through thick and then. They don't make them any more and demand now out-strips supply. Please bear all this in mind, and enjoy your classic car. I can also assist with delivery and so please ask for a quote.
I have now been established as a one-man band classic car dealer for 20 years and pride myself on my buying prowess and - due to small margins - my prices which I firmly believe are up there among the very best in the UK classic car marketplace. Martin. the details below.
