This lot will be auctioned via Classic Car Auctions, The Practical Classics Classic Car and Restoration Show Sale 2023 on Saturday the 25th of March - Sunday the 26th of March, NEC, Birmingham, B40 1NT.
According to its accompanying BMW Certificate of Authenticity, this 2002 was originally built on 23/ 01/ 1974, despatched to BMW Concessionaires, London on 05/ 02/ 1974, supplied to its first owner by Heynes Garage of Cradley Heath and UK-registered on 1/ 11/ 1974
Some 45 years later, and looking a little sorry for itself, the car was acquired by our vendor, its sixth-keeper on 12/ 07/ 2020
He tasked Essex-based ‘Intensive Car Unit’ with carrying out a full restoration, and their invoice, dated 15/ 02/ 21 for £42, 000, is in the file
The work included a full body and chassis restoration, under-body restoration and seal, wings and inner wings, sills and inner sills, full interior retrimmed, new glass and seals, new chrome all round, new bumpers, new wheels and tyres
There are a number of other substantial invoices from Jaymic for the supply of parts etc.
More recent attention (18/ 04/ 2022) includes a carb set-up, steering column adjustment, attention to brakes and exhaust brackets etc. (£1, 305)
The little BMW is supplied with its original blue wallet containing its manuals, Handbooks, service records etc. and lots of history including over 20 previous MOTs, invoices, correspondence, its Certificate of Authenticity and its original keys
Looking lovely in a fresh coat of Chamonix White with a very smart navy blue vinyl interior, and very sensibly guided, this is an opportunity not to be missed
