BMW R80 GS
I'VE DECIDED IM GOING TO KEEP IT AS EXTREMELY RARE, RIDES FANTASTIC, CANT FIND ANOTHER AND BETTER THAN MONEY IN THE BANK
This bike had a full nut and bolt restoration using genuine BMW parts by a technician at well know BMW specialists, "Rainbow" circa 5 years ago at 36, 531 miles.
I purchased this from Gary Burton of BaMW fame last year. He fitted new downpipes and collector box. These alone are circa £900 if you can even find them. Also a new Wilber's rear shock and gave it a sprinkle of Gary Burton magic.
To quote Gary, to restore a GS now, a basket case fetches £4, 000 and he'd need at least another £11, 000 to restore it, before you add any personal extras.
Last September I rode this bike to and from Spain, and completed the North of Spain classic bike rally. I've covered nearly 2500 miles on her on various ride outs and weekends away. She's a good one!
