1978 BMW R80/ 7 Airhead Cafe Racer/ Scrambler
800cc Boxer Twin with shortened pipes - it’s very loud and crackles and pops
Rare model with wire wheels, twin shocks and twin discs. Much cooler than the wheels on the later models and mono shock!
I’ll be as honest as possible as this is not a show bike and there are a few bits could do with tidying up. Bear in mind it’s 45 years old.
Owned for 5 yrs and just don’t have the time for it. Been parked up the last couple of summers so could do with a good service.
Bike fires up no problem and can be ridden ok but as it’s been sitting for a while might be better on a trailer until it’s serviced etc.
Front forks are a bit spongy and some of the paintwork could do with a freshen up around the engine, wheels and driveshaft.
I had planned to totally restore it but have no time so reluctantly having to sell.
No test rides without cash in hand which I’ll happily hand back if it’s not for you.
