1991 Range Rover CSK
Launched at the 1990 Birmingham Motor Show, the Range Rover CSK was a limited edition model of which only 200 examples would be produced. The CSK, taking its name from the initials of the original 2-door Range Rover designer Charles Spencer King was to be fitted with a 3. 9 litre V8 engine producing 185 BHP, along with a whole host of special features. The 2-door body shell was used as a homage to the original 1970 Range Rover, which was still in production in some export markets. The CSK showcased many upgrades such as improvements to the suspension and braking system, features which eventually made it on to the later 4-door Vogue. Trimmed to Vogue SE specification the CSK came standard with beige leather, walnut trim, air conditioning, central locking, sunroof etc. It is believed that of the 200 produced only 49 were produced with an automatic gearbox, as is the example offered here, which was an expensive option at a cost of £1, 324. 32.
Offered here is a restored example which has been stripped back to a bare chassis. The chassis was media blasted and the vehicle fully reassembled taking over 1, 000 hours to complete. The cost of this restoration alone was significantly higher than the asking price today.
