Road legal jump bike based around a 1966 Harley-Davidson XLCH Sportster inspired by the Famous Wembley 1975 jump bike
Ten years in the making and built with no expense spared into a very accurate tribute machine
Our vendor was inspired at a young age when his parents took him to see a famous American stunt rider at Wembley Stadium in 1975. After the show, he vowed to build himself a replica jump bike when he was older and, some years later, that dream came true
The donor bike was a basket case 1966 XLCH Sportster (as opposed to an XR750) which was fitted into a custom-built replica frame (original frame included)
Baz Church-built engine in standard 883cc trim fitted with straight through pipes (with baffles)
Attention to detail includes correct XR750 oil tank, exact replica nickel double braced handle bars bought from a museum in Kansas, fuel tank and seat tail painted to the exact Wembley colours, correctly stitched seat, certain GP front forks, waffle grips, correct mismatched front and rear tyres with Pirelli DT knobbly on the rear on a standard sportster rim and a 19" XR high wall/ flanged flat track rim on the front
Described as a 'labour of love'
Stored inside as part of a display and not run for a while so may require some recommissioning before use
UK-registered on a current V5C
