This car is to be auctioned at The Autumn Stafford Sale - The Classic Motorcycle Mechanics Show
Norman motorcycles were built in Ashford, Kent, well away from the industry's traditional Midlands home. Originally enamellers and platers, Norman turned to bicycle manufacture in the mid-1930s and exhibited its first powered two-wheelers in 1938. In the immediately post-war years the range consisted of an autocycle plus the B1 and B2 lightweights of 122 and 197cc respectively, all Villiers powered. The famous Nippy moped first appeared with Sachs power in 1956, changing to a Villiers 3K engine in 1959 as the Nippy II. This Sachs powered example is offered for restoration and this machine's Vehicle Registration Number has lapsed from both the DVLA and HPI databases. Accordingly, the machine is offered unregistered and without documents, and prospective bidders must satisfy themselves as to the validity of the VRN prior to bidding.
