This beautiful and rare Lancia Augusta , has been in one ownership for nearly 40 years , a huge commitment by the previous (now sadly deceased owner) has meant that the Lancia is now beautifully preserved, albeit with finishing work now required.
The chassis has been completely rebuilt , all corrosion cut out and repaired , it now presents as new, the ash framing was completely replaced, with a superb new ash framework.
Mechanically, the engine and gearbox were rebuilt and the Augusta runs very nicely indeed.
The braking system has also been restored along with the advanced sliding pillar , independent front suspension for which these early Lancia, are so lauded for.
The wood cappings have been re-veneered and lacquerd, whilst the seats require restoration .
The radiator shell has been re-chromed along with the rebuilt Bosch headlamps and many other small parts , all ready to fit.
This is a very complete project, a really nice car that is ideal for the home restorer to finish , a perfect winter project with all the hard work completed , what a lovely touring car it will make when finished , ideal for VSCC rallies or even the Mille Miglia ?
