This beautiful AMC Javelin may not be the most famous American classic car. Yet the car certainly belongs in the series of various 'muscle cars' that we know from the United States. The Javelin is a stylish and impressive sports coupe produced between 1967 and 1974. This AMC Javelin is from 1970 and therefore from the first generation of this model.
The car was registered in the Netherlands in 1998 and has been carefully maintained since then. The engine block was overhauled about 15 years ago. The car has also been restored once in the past while retaining as much originality as possible. The chrome bumpers and various other trim parts are still completely original. Because the restoration took some time, the paint shows some spots in a number of places, but this is actually minimal. The paint still has its beautiful deep shine and all body parts fit perfectly. The rubber parts are also still in good condition.
The interior is still very neat. The seats and backseat have completely new leather upholstery and the dashboard is also still in good condition. All instruments work properly and everything looks neat and tidy. The seats are comfortable and sturdy and it is very pleasant to stay in this AMC Javelin.
This becomes even more pleasant when we drive this wonderful car. The original 304 engine block (5 liters, 8 cylinders) with 210 hp is not only beautiful to listen to, but also wonderful to drive. Linked to the three-speed automatic transmission, sporty driving is possible, but also comfortable cruising. The engine runs very quietly and smoothly and the car drives and steers very smoothly. The brakes also feel smooth and solid. It is a wonderful driver's car with beautiful music coming from the exhausts.
Anyone looking for a unique and unusual American classic car has now found the right one.
