At 1993 Geneva Motor Show, Mercedes presented the next millennia's design language with the Concept Coupe, later CLK was born from this development. The box shaped forms was changed to curvy lines, biggest difference was the double circle headlights.
The look and the quality was in pair with the E-Class, mechanically it was closer to the agile C-Class.
The base CLK model had a 2 liter petrol engine, it was also available with a Compressor upgrade. V6 engine had more fun, the V8 version is the true muscle coupe. CLK also achieved the success at the racetrack, it was raced in DTM, the V12 CLK GTR had an outstanding looks and performance. The street legal AMG models was represented as safety vehicle in F1.
This model is the top of the range everyday model from the US market, now with EU documentation, the V8 CLK 430 with AMG upgrades from the factory. The main extras: electrically operated, 3 station memory, heated, multicontour, sporty leather seats; first gen Command headunit; board computer; multifunction steering wheel; digital multizone automatic AC; openable sunroof; cruise control; 5G Tronic automatic; 17" AMG alloy wheels.
