This motorcycle is to be auctioned by Bonhams at the Timed-Online December Sale, with public viewing available Wednesday 6 December, from Bonhams Motorcycles in Milton Keynes. The timed online auction runs between December 1st through December 11th, with lots closing from midday December 11th.

Frame number '100004' (stamped on the headstock) was gifted to our vendor, who at the time was the UK importer for the smaller Gileras (see London Biker newspaper article on file). This particular machine was imported to assess its suitability for UK distribution.
The bike was last ridden by the vendor (on a trade plate) in 1989 and was then laid up. The fuel, oil, coolant, battery (YB1L-2A) and air filter element have been removed. Recommissioning will be required before further use. The engine turns over on the kick-starter and the transmission all works, while the tyres are OE. The odometer reading of 1, 256 kilometres (780 miles) is accurate.
There are scratch marks to the paint on one side of the swinging arm, and the Marvic wheels in particular have, over the years, suffered UV degradation (for a while the bike was on display in the window of the vendor's dealerships in South and North London).
The Saturno comes with its complete original tool kit in a Gilera-badged pouch; the original owner's brochure/ handbook and promotional material; and a complete set of original bound workshop manuals, in English, plus a photocopy of same which includes a forward and comments from the UK Gilera Club. It also comes with two complete sets of keys. Prospective purchasers should be aware that this motorcycle is unregistered and has no accompanying documentation.
