This Mercedes-Benz 600 was delivered new to the Count Chandon de Briailles, heir to Moët & Chandon, on 18 December 1967 and registered as 6812 UM 75. It was fitted with several desirable options, including the sunroof, refrigerated mini-bar, air-conditioning, Becker Grand Prix radio and the magnificent blue velour seats. The original service book shows that it was subsequently maintained in the Mercedes-Benz dealer network. By 1969, the car had already covered almost 35, 000km. In 1985, it was sold to M. Ginisty, who continued to drive the car and therefore maintained it properly. And for good reason, an impressive number of files from the Mercedes-Benz dealer network and then with the 600 specialist Branthomme are present in its history file. The total expenditure from 1985-2007 amounted to 217, 000 francs (about 33, 000 €). Its current owner bought this magnificent 600 at auction in July 2015. In 2018, he took the car back to Branthomme for work to ensure that it would perform faultlessly. A car enthusiast and the owner of a large collection, he has covered only about 600km with the Mercedes since 2015. Today, the car is showing a total of about 142. 000km. We had the pleasure of taking this superb 600 out on test and revelled in the majestic manner in which it drove!
A true flagship among cars of the 1960s, even now the 600 represents an incomparable level of prestige and elegance. Luxurious, comfortable and powerful, it will have no difficulty holding its ground in modern traffic while remaining as classy as ever.
