1968 Vanden Plas Princess DM4 Limousine
4 Litre straight six/ 4 speed column change manual gearbox
This limousine was supplied despatched at the end of 1967 to the ministry of defence and remained with them until it was passed to its first private owner in 1972. This gentleman retained the car until 1980 when it was sold to its 2nd owner who kept it until he passed away a few years ago. We purchased it direct from his family, so it is basically 3 owners from new.
He has maintained it meticulously during his ownership. A full interior retrim including headlining was carried out in 1991 and an engine rebuild to unleaded specification in 1999.
The history file that accompanies the car is extensive including every mot certificate from 1980 until 2015, handwritten notes of every oil change, new parts fitted and everything ever done to it. He was fanatical about this limousine and the other 3 that we purchased at the same time from the family. ( we have 2 more in the same specification available)
We have just fitted 2 new batteries and recommissioned it, so it is now running and driving faultlessly. Everything works in it, even the electric glass partitioning.
There are very few of these lovely cars left that will be as nice as the ones we have here and they all came from a well respected owner. This one is now ready to go straight to work in the wedding or private hire sector
