Front Interior Map Light. 148, 650 miles. Released from Military Service in 2012 ? incredibly late! & only 4 keepers since.

We are delighted to present for sale this stunning 1992 Land Rover® 90, finished in Keswick Green colour scheme with colour coded Wolf Wheels, fitted with BF Goodrich All Terrain Tyres. This is an Ex-Military example only released from the forces in 2012, which is one of the latest we?ve ever seen ? this means that it has not been subjected to 30 years of British winters due to long periods of dry storage and minimal use in the colder months ? and in turn, the general chassis and bulkhead condition are therefore much better than one expects to see on a vehicle of this age?.. due to a much more rigorous schedule of maintenance during its time in the forces.

The photos quite simply speak for themselves here ? a stunning high-specification 90 with galvanised and silver detailing throughout, matching bonnet mounted spare, and a set of brand new BF Goodrich rubber ? just look at that wheel and tyre combo? we?ve never seen a better one. The bodywork is a spray finish, with lovely riveted detailing too ? as the photos show. Military screw lenses are fitted for easy changing of bulbs when one goes out. A tow ball and electrics is fitted to allow towing, with a galvanised drop plate and stainless steel tow ball ? along with a set of galvanised grab handles too. We could go on for ages about the exterior of this vehicle ? the new canvas with side windows, the big side mirrors for better visibility, chrome number plate light ? it all culminates to make one of the most gorgeous Land Rover® 90 models that we?ve ever seen, and we hope you agree.

The inside follows the same vein ? high back seats are fitted with OEM floor mats, with a centre cubby box which matches the outer seats, equipped with cup holders and a stereo system, with Bluetooth audio & USB charging. Using the cubby box as a ?bass port? for the system means a better than expected sound. Both seats have 3 point over the shoulder belts too. The interior passenger has access to a light, which is handy for reading maps at night, or finding your bottle of pop in the footwell. The rear is unfitted, with the exception of a load mat ? but can house bench seats on request for £595 to bring seating to six if so desired. The canvas with side windows means a light and airy feel inside, and better visibility for the driver. The middle convoy switch shows this vehicle has previously been in the military ? and all the lights work as they should.

One of the big ?plus points? of these 90s is they have the creature comforts you want, but without the complicated electrical engineering which is often associated with them, making them expensive to repair. This car is no different ? coil springs, 5 speed gearbox with synchromesh and power steering mean this isn?t a hard car to drive, even by modern standards. The diesel engine is the non-turbo unit, and whilst they are not a ?road ripper? in regards to speed, they are well known to be an exceptionally reliable unit which can go for a huge mileage with regular servicing.. which is why they were fitted to vehicles for military service, as this one once was. A brand new full exhaust is fitted to give a nice sound, complete the look and give confidence to the new owner ? along with a full underbody protection package, with a full under seal carried out, to protect the chassis against the upcoming salty roads and cold weather. There is nothing on this vehicle which cannot be fixed by a competent ?old school? mechanic ? no ECU?s or sensors to go wrong ? but the fact all the items you?d want are still fitted makes this an attractive prospect from an ownership experience perspective. As you can see from the supplied photo, the engine bay is well kept and this vehicle has only covered 148, 000 miles from new ? just 4600 a year on average since new.

In summary, if you are looking for a Land Rover® 90 which looks great, does not suffer from the later foibles of electrical issues which plague their younger siblings and has benefitted from a multitude of creature comforts and upgrades ? then this could be for you. With simple ?bare bones? engineering, a strong chassis and bulkhead and minimal use due to a life led in the British Army ? it is far more likely to stand the test of time than a later one, whilst still looking the part today ? and in just 8 years time, it won?t need road tax or an MOT either!
