Description
This is Lot 436 in the Bonhams Spring Stafford Sale on April 20 & 21, please see the Bonhams website for full details.
This BSA B33 was built in 1950 and despatched on 12th September that year to James Bowen & Sons in Llawhaden, Pembrokeshire. It was sold new to one J Davies of Penally; then bought back by Bowen and sold again by them in March 1959, on this occasion to one E V C Evans of Penffynnon. In 1967 the BSA was laid up, remaining off the road until it was purchased as a dismantled restoration project in 2000. The machine was then treated to a thorough 'last nut and bolt' restoration, which was completed in 2004. The restoration included full rebuilds of the engine and gearbox; electrics rewired; lights, gauges and horn refurbished; wheels rebuilt; and paintwork and chrome redone. The BSA has been exhibited at the Southern Classic Bike Show and been used mainly for local club runs and events where it has been voted 'Best in Show'. The machine past ran in 2014/ 2015 and should require only minimal recommissioning before returning to the road. Accompanying documentation consists of a Pembrokeshire County Council Motors Register extract; BSA OC dating certificate confirming matching frame/ engine numbers; an old-style continuation logbook (1963); copy old V5; and a current V5C Registration certificate.
