Beautiful, rare and with the coveted 144 bhp C32 engine at low mileage as a restoration item for enthusiasts and connoisseurs. Amazingly well styled classic car with enough power and charm. The Peugeot is in Cologne, Germany. The vehicle is going to the highest bidder.
Here are some facts: - Last technical inspection until 23/ 06 - German vehicle registration I&II, technical data sheet and AU of 21/ 07 are available, unfortunately no last TÜV report - Engine is dry, runs smooth and sounds healthy, gearbox shifts cleanly, car steers and brakes in the yard.
- Extensive work such as K-Jetronic overhaul; dynamometer test, fuel pressure adjustment, new fuel pump (for Porsche), new fuel lines - A-pillars and rear axle mounted as usual weak points in perfect condition - Sills fabricated, li/ re solid and galvanised - Passenger-side underbody welded and apparently solid - Lower door edges without grille. I am enclosing new seals for the front and rear windows. - Steering servo completely overhauled. - Engine block on crankcase welded at great expense by a specialist engine repairer and classic car expert due to corrosion, so no more corrosion problems as usual with this type of engine. - Interior trim is good, unfortunately a crack at the top of the rear seat, so it needs replacing.
- A lot of work has been invested... Nevertheless, there's still a few things to do before the TÜV (Technical Inspection Authority) and the "H" are accepted: 5 cm crack on the wing, the outer wheel arch, the rear weld on the passenger side; Insert small sheets of metal at the top of the engine compartment on the front wings (see photos). Replace the rubber seals on the VA ball joints (I enclose the replacement) Overhaul the brakes after a long wait, seal the exhaust, the speedometer shaft should be new, if necessary new seals on the doors, the paintwork is the biggest drawback and no longer looks good, unprofessionally done by the previous owner (clear coat drips. Electric fuel pump: there are only 8 volts at the pump, so bypass the battery with red cable. Everything is feasible for the experienced mechanic or amateur, but too much for me. I need time for a Porsche 928, also from 1978 - the previous owner invested about €9, 000. 00 in two well-known restaurants; I've invested about €11, 000. 00 so far. The TÜV (Technical Inspection Authority) is not far away. If things go well, the car will fetch around €23, 000 + X in condition 2. The C32 on offer here will be great fun when it finally hits the road again. Platform lift available for viewing, test drive in the yard no problem. I had fun with all the DIY.
