Beskrivning
Among classic car enthusiasts, we often refer to three distinct types: the restorer, the collector, and the driver. This particular MGA—one of the three classic rear-end variants featuring separate indicators and brake lights—unquestionably belongs to the third category. It's a car that begs to be driven, not tucked away. Exceptionally well-maintained, it stands firmly as a solid Condition 2 example. More importantly, it drives beautifully—a true testament to the meticulous care it has received over the years.
Acquired in 2011 and driven for over a decade on private plates by its sole German-registered owner, this MGA features a documented 1. 8L MGB engine delivering 70 kW (95 PS). For over a decade, it has been maintained by an MG marque specialist in Bad Sassendorf, Germany. In August 2023, it successfully passed the rigorous German Historical inspection, qualifying it for official Historical registration after nearly 13 years on private plates.
For the purist, the original 1600cc engine block is also available with the car. That said, the more powerful 1798cc engine transforms the driving experience—it's a conversion that arguably should have been more widely adopted. * Also available is the original Tachometer which was starting to perform a little inconsistently, hence the new low miles displayed above.
This is an excellent example of an older restoration, recently refreshed with some recent paintwork and still presents very well today. The soft top and tonneau cover are both in superb condition, folding neatly to accommodate the removable side windows, which themselves are in very good shape. Inside, the red leather interior is pristine, complemented by a color-coded black dashboard packed with an array of classic dials and switches—a true nod to its heritage.
