The fascinating Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT S: A rare jewel Rarely has the HooG Selections team been so excited about a new acquisition. A fifth-generation Maserati Quattroporte. Interesting, you might think, there are several of them! Rest assured: of the ultimate Sport GT S version (yes, with a space between GT and S!) only 1, 847 examples were produced, and in this spectacular colour configuration, even fewer... A heritage of Italian fire The fifth-generation Maserati Quattroporte, designed by Pininfarina, made its debut in September 2003 at the IAA Frankfurt motor show. Significantly larger than its predecessor, the Quattroporte was initially equipped with the famous 400 bhp 4. 2-litre V8, coupled to a robotised gearbox called Cambiocorsa. Fortunately, the Italian engineers realised that the Quattroporte would only be a real success with a conventional automatic gearbox, so from the 2007 model year a 6-speed ZF automatic gearbox was successfully introduced. And that's not all: two years later, from 2008, the Quattroporte S version received the all-new 4. 7-litre V8 with 430 bhp, up from 400, and above all 490 Nm of torque instead of 450. An emotional rollercoaster on four wheels Fast forward to 2021 and let's discover our Quattroporte Sport GT S, the ultimate version once again. Although equipped with the same 4. 7 V8, 6-speed ZF gearbox and just 10 bhp more than the S, this Sport GT S is a completely different car. Gone are the round, chrome tailpipes: here, two imposing, flat, anthracite-coloured tips announce the colour. And it's precisely the exhaust system that is the main attraction of this Quattroporte... A veritable opera house of sound and speed In normal mode, it remains powerful but distinguished, until the driver presses the 'Sport' button on the dashboard. That's when the Quattroporte transforms from a luxurious, elegant limousine into a true sports car - no, a supercar! The acoustic transformation is so spectacular that it defies description. The combination of the roar of the exhaust and the fiery revving of the V8 is simply unparalleled. A love letter to Italian elegance The beaming smile of actor Omar Sy, in a well-known scene, gives a glimpse of the emotion that this Quattroporte provides. You'll have to forgive the author of these lines, who is also your advisor for this car, for his enthusiasm: it's well worth watching this scene, if not the whole film. This example of the Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT S, delivered new by Ferrari-Maserati Antwerpen (FMA), is dressed in the sublime shade Grigio Granito. An Italian romance on four wheels This very dark metallic grey goes wonderfully well with the Sabbia full-grain leather interior, sublimated by Rosewood precious wood inserts and an incomparably soft Pearl Beige alcantara roof lining. You've got it: all that's missing is a made-to-measure suit by Finamore, Incotex, Boglioli or Santoni to complete the Italian elegance... An invitation to a drive full of passion The story of this Maserati is as easy to read as this declaration of love. The service history is fully stamped, confirming the exceptional condition of this Quattroporte. A rendezvous with Italian perfection It was with a touch of sadness, but above all a great deal of pride, that we decided to publish this advert and its photos. Have you fallen under its spell?
