Description

With peace in 1945 a change was immediately made to civilian production but because of the post-war financial crisis the cars were nearly all exported, with the first one arriving in the United States in July 1945. In September 1945 the first passenger cars produced after World War II's end to arrive in Switzerland were two Austin Tens exported from England.

This Austin 10 GS1 has spent a number of years stored in the corner of a barn and is now up and running with a new battery. It has good oil pressure and sounds well.

The car drives well, the clutch and brakes are in good order and gear change is direct.

The body is very solid and the underside suggests it has never been welded, it is not covered in thick underseal! The paintwork looks to be very original and has loads of patina and character.

The interior is very original and in very nice order, complete with manual.

The car looks to have been registered later in 1952 although we believe the car is likely to have been built in 1947. - We do have the current V5.

Please bare in mind the car has been stood for a number of years and although we do not consider it a project some TLC may be inevitable.

Please feel free to contact us for further information or to arrange a viewing - a walk around video is available that can be shared.

We are happy to consider part exchange. Nationwide delivery available.
