Classic Car Design offers you this beautiful 1972 Alfa Romeo Spider "Coda Tronca" of French origin, an icon of Italian motoring. This is the 2nd generation of the original Alfa Romeo Spider, which retains its original elegance and sportiness. The bodywork and underpinnings are in excellent condition and show no signs of corrosion. The 'Rosso' paintwork is bright and shiny, with no dents or scratches. The special feature of this model is its period hard-top, which gives it the look of a hard-top coupé (the mechanism and soft top are available but will need to be restored). The vintage Momo Vega aluminium wheels are the perfect complement, adding a sporty, authentic touch. Inside, the upholstery and dashboard are typical of the 60s and 70s, with the large tulip-shaped wooden steering wheel, the two large instruments under their caps and the central gauges. The gear lever is 'planted' in the middle of the console, and the spider offers a very comfortable driving position. The floor mats and door panels are close to mint condition. Although a strict 2-seater, this Spider nevertheless features a small rear bench seat, a rarity on this model. Under the bonnet, this Spider is equipped with the famous Bialbero 2-litre double overhead camshaft engine. It was rebuilt by the penultimate owner and fitted with high-compression pistons and Colombo and Bariani camshafts. Renowned for its reliability and performance, it starts easily and offers the sportiness expected of the model. It is powered by Weber carburettors, the most efficient and simple to adjust. A recent compression test shows that the carburettor is in good shape. All the mechanical parts are in excellent condition, whether in terms of transmission, suspension or braking, ensuring that the car handles very well. This Alfa Romeo Spider "Coda Tronca", while not perfect, is in well above average condition. Its reliability, ease of maintenance and availability of spare parts make it one of the best choices for the collection.
