Produced in just 500 examples to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the legendary partnership between Shelby and Hertz, this GT-H pays tribute to the famous 1966 GT350-H, which customers could rent for a weekend to experience a real racing coupé on the open road. This special edition, based on the Mustang GT V8 4. 6L convertible, was revised by Shelby Automobiles in Las Vegas with numerous modifications: - Fibreglass bonnet with air intake - Borla Performance exhaust system - Specific sports suspension - 17-inch Shelby chrome wheels - Complete styling pack (front blades, spoiler, Shelby badges) - Specific numbering and Shelby plaque under the bonnet This Shelby GT-H is not just a prepared Mustang: It's a modern collector's item, a nod to Shelby's racing past, an object of desire that's become rare in Europe, and a great GT to live with every day.
Our example, in its emblematic black livery with double gold stripes and black leather upholstery, is in simply exceptional condition. Unlike its sisters used for rental, our example is an exceptional convertible that has never been used in the fleet. It belonged to a Hertz branch manager, which explains its remarkable state of preservation and its ultra-low mileage of just 10, 100 miles (approx. 16, 000km). Delivered new in 2007, it was acquired in Miami in 2017 by its current French expatriate owner, who then repatriated it to France in 2020 to add to his private collection. Mechanically, the 4. 6L V8 is lively, smooth and perfectly backed up by a smooth, well-spaced 5-speed automatic gearbox.
The Borla exhaust system delivers a raucous but controlled sound, a Shelby signature that is all the more appreciable in a convertible. The running gear is sound, the brakes powerful and the steering precise: this is a true modern, usable and reliable American GT. Aesthetically, the deep black paintwork has a very nice sheen and the gold stripes are in good condition.
The wheels are in excellent condition and the tyres are also in very good condition. The black leather interior is just as clean as the exterior: no dents, no noticeable signs of wear, shiny plastics and perfectly functional instrumentation.
