The VTR 1000 SP2 is the evolution of the VTR 1000 SP1 model; produced from 2002 to 2006.
999cc twin-cylinder with electronic fuel injection. 135 hp, 194 kg: a few more horsepower than the SP1 and a few kg less.
The engine's exhilarating responsiveness, aided by a new injection system, is combined with a different rideability than the SP01: more maneuverable and agile (to counter this typical strength of competitors Aprilia and Ducati), but less solid at very high speeds.
One of Honda's flagship models. Colin Edwards won the World Superbike Championship in 2002, racing in the Castrol livery.
