Description
The Austin 7 is an economy car that was produced from 1923 until 1939. It was nicknamed the "Baby Austin" and was, at that time, one of the most popular cars produced for the British market. Its effect on the British market was similar to that of the Model T Ford in the US, replacing most other British economy cars of the early 1920s.
This Austin 7 was first registered in the 8th February 1929 in Nottingham, and has spent the last 30 odd years in Surrey.
The engine starts and runs well, its very perky and is fitted with a modified inlet manifold and SU carburettor. It has good oil pressure, all fluids are in the correct places and no frost damage.
The drivetrain is in good order and there are no nasty noises, the clutch and gears are very direct and it is fitted with a 3 speed gate change gearbox.
The body work is new (NOS) it has been made very nicely and we believe is known as a Cambridge. The wheels have been refurbished and new tyres have been fitted all round.
The Cambridge is being offered as a car that needs a small amount of tinker time just to make it your own and get it over the line. It stops, starts, runs and drives but is very much something that just needs finishing.
