Während der Sechszylinder der vorangehenden E36-Generation M3 zwar nicht als träge galt, entwickelte BMW Motorsport dennoch das „High-Rev-Konzept“ für die E46 von 2000. Das Resultat war der 3, 2-Liter-Motor mit einer roten Limite bei 8. 000 U/ min. Ein akustisches Erlebnis, das am besten mit offenem Dach im M3 Cabriolet genossen werden konnte.
Elegantly finished in Titansilber Metallic with a black fabric roof over an interior lined in Black Nappa leather, this drop-top M3 holds a 13 June 2002 date of production and was delivered to its first owner in Germany via BMW Niederlassung Chemnitz a week later. A generous specification added electrically adjustable, heated, memory sports seats, rear parking sensors, automatic air conditioning, plus an in-built television and satellite navigation.
When the car was added to The Best of M Collection in July 2016, the M3 was noted as showing just 1, 600 kilometres. Following its most recent service by Autoleth A/ S in Haderslev of Denmark in May 2025, the car displayed a mere 1, 635 kilometres at the time of cataloguing. The M3 is accompanied by its boot-fitted tool kit, owner’s guides in their leather folio, and a Birth Certificate by BMW Classic.
