Description
This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Iconic Motorcycle Sale at the NEC Classic Motor Show 2025 on Sunday the 9th of November, NEC, Birmingham, B40 1NT.
DMW was established in the late 1930s and focussed on small capacity race bikes and a limited number of road bikes, mostly powered by Villiers engines
The Hornet model was built in limited numbers for club racing in the late 1960s so rare to find in original condition now
This example (frame #2H00) is powered by a Villiers 247cc Starmaker engine fuelled through an Amal Mk2 concentric carburettor
Early Hornets were often equipped with a 6-speed gearbox, while later models had 5-speed units
DMW used its own Metal Profiles front forks with an integrated hydraulic damper, a significant contribution to motorcycle design.
Older CRMC race history but no current CRMC certificate present
Not used for last few years so will require recommissioning before use
Race fairing included as pictured
