Where to start with this one?? I have known this bike since 1977 when as a moped rider i used to lust after it, while i watched its owner across the road from me, pull out on it. Fast forward to 2025 when his the 30 year old son contacted me reference his dads old bike. Turned out his dad had emigrated to Spain in 1980 and had sadly recently passed away. The bike. still with only 5000 miles on the clock, had been left in his garage , here in the UK, until such time he rented out the house. At that point it had been moved outside and left under an open car port, where it had stood for the next 40 or so years, you dont need me to tell you what had happened to it!
Cosmetically it would of been deemed uneconomical to be restored, plus the motor had siezed from standing. But here at Redline we just cant let these old things die plus i had a kind of emotional attachment to it. So we did what we do, took it apart and started again. We did far too much for me to sit here describing it, so just look at the picture ( better ones will be available once/ if the weather breaks) and give me a ring. Better still , come and have a look for yourself. G
Note: As with all vehicles that have been stood un taxed etc they drop off the DVLA register and have to be re-registered. We have started this process and hopefully we will have its registration back soon. This will be a correct age related plate and the bike will be correctly registered in the "historic" tax class.
