The GT 63 is a more powerful, better-equipped variant of the GT 4-Door and features the AMG M177 4. 0L twin-turbocharged V8 engine, which produces 430 kW (577 hp; 585 PS) and 800 Nm (590 lbf⋅ft). The car accelerates from 0-100 km/ h (0-62 mph) in 3. 4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 311 km/ h (193 mph), as tested by the manufacturer. The GT 63 also has an optional, selectable "Drift Mode" that sends power exclusively to the rear wheels. The car comes standard with an electronically controlled rear differential lock and rear-wheel steering, and features an MCT transmission with a wet clutch to handle the extra power. The GT 63 utilizes AMG's multi-chamber air suspension for a sportier, more adaptive driving experience and has a cylinder deactivation mode for increased efficiency.

The GT 63 S shares the same 4. 0-liter M177 twin-turbo V8 engine as the GT 63, but has been further tuned to deliver 470 kW (630 hp; 639 PS) and 900 Nm (664 lbf⋅ft) of torque. According to manufacturer tests, the GT 63 S accelerates from 0 to 100 km/ h (62 mph) in 3. 2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 315 km/ h (195 mph). Auto Bild tested 0-100 km/ h (62 mph) in 3. 0 seconds, 0-160 km/ h (100 mph) in 6. 6 seconds, and 0-200 km/ h (124 mph) in 10. 2 seconds.
