1962 CORVETTE C1
WALK ROUND VIDEO AVAILABLE ON REQUEST
This 4-speed manual '62 C1 showpiece belonged to a Mr Charles Grubb in the States. We have spoken extensively to Mr Grubb's wife who confirms his ownership from 1967 through to about 2015. She confirms whenever they moved States, the car moved with them. Due to illness he eventually sold this 48 year one-owner car and it was shipped soon after to the UK in 2015.
The car has all the signs of a body-off restoration at some stage in it's life and the car still presents very well today. The engine bay is outstanding and recent work includes all new Edelbrock polished inlet with matching Edelbrock 600 carb, a polished aluminium water pump & pulleys, hi-rise valve covers, Hei ignition and a superb aluminium radiator. The exhaust looks to be recent and the car has an expensive front disc brake conversion installed, and finally, a full set of brand new whitewalls have only just been fitted. The car is a first time starter and drives well, especially so as a C1.
INTERIOR - the full interior has been replace with Eckler's finest and that even includes the expensive dash top. Before fitting the new seat skins, the seats were fully rebuilt with all new spring assemblies. Door cards, carpets, over-mats, sunvisors, weatherseals, everything has been replaced. The car has even had a new windshield complete with all required rubbers and frame mount etc. The correct '62 steering wheel has been restored and new GM logo seat belts complete the picture.
EXTERIOR - very nice and could drive to a show tomorrow. This C1 is in it's correct factory Roman Red and overall the paintwork is excellent. The lower rocker mouldings that are so mega-expensive have recently been replaced with new which is a hell of a bonus as they're now discontinued. The car is very clean inside the trunk plus a new trunk floor-mat is in place. The car's chrome-work and all exterior brightwork are in equally nice condition. The car has all new emblems throughout. The black soft-top is excellent as is the frame. The underside of the car shows no signs of welding and presents very well. We're happy to lift the car and remove any road wheel should a perspective buyer wish to view behind.
So that's about it, if you have interest then we can forward a short walk round video to tempt you further.
