Description

Please also take a look at the video of this vehicle in the photo section!

NO! That’s not quite right yet! The drag coefficient of a SAAB 92 is ONLY 0. 32, which is considerably better than that of the FERRARI F40, which sits at 0. 34. Aerodynamically the SAAB is oriented to a wing, but appears far less attractive and has a somewhat weaker engine :-)

Early 2014 in Sweden bought "blind"! The sales description "god skick" (good condition) seems to be due to the seller’s perception or visual impairment and was definitely not the whole truth... Nearly 4 years of researching parts, suppliers and specialists were required to bring the SAAB to a condition that justifies a "god skick". Accordingly the total put into the project "92" up to now lies well above the sale price. In the meantime the performance is again breathtaking and, given the efficiency knowledge of the new braking system, one tends to drive in a deliberately relaxed speed range! If necessary the suicide doors could also be extended as braking flaps should one drive down the Großglockner. The shock absorbers manufactured in Britain are switchable from "Comfort" to "Sport" and enable cornering speeds at the edge of a powerslide! Here is an extract of the most extensive works, new parts and special-made components, for which the capital and time spent would fill volumes:

ALL OF THIS IS NEW:

5x FIRESTONE "Sprint Classic"
4x shock absorbers specially built in the UK, adjustable to "Sport" and "Comfort"
4x brakes complete: pads, brake cylinders, springs, holders etc.
all window seals
Wiper blades axles and linkage
Bosch ignition switch
Spark plugs
6V Bosch battery
Wiring completely (Bosch-Oldtimer-Service)
KING fuel filter with pressure regulation
Headlights & bulbs
Blower hose, between radiator, blower, ventilation flap
Paintwork on the body
Paintwork on the engine bay components

This was OVERHAULED:
Distributor cap completely newly fitted (Bosch-Oldtimer-Service)
Radiator completely overhauled, cleaned
Carburettor completely overhauled
All 5 rims sandblasted and powder-coated
Engine/ gearbox dry-ice cleaned

This was NEWLY DEVELOPED:
Development of a control system for the entire lighting system by the Bosch-Oldtimer-Service. Thus, via the taillight, brake/ indicate and indicator lights is displayed. At the same time the side WINKERS are also actuated, which may be in use, as they do not protrude beyond the maximum width of the body when lit.

And this is ALSO NEW:
TÜV
Certificate/ classification as a classic car

Philosophy:
"Beauty is the sum of the parts whose arrangement makes adding, removing or changing unnecessary!" THAT is exactly true of this SAAB! If you don’t feel it this way, you can’t be a SAAB fan! It brings a look of astonished wonder to the faces of people it meets: "That’s a plane without propeller and wings!"

History
1945: Aircraft engineer Gunnar Ljungström designs the first SAAB 92. Industrial designer Sixten Sason develops the final body shape on this basis.
1947: On 4 June the development team presents the first prototype of the 92 to SAAB’s management. Six days later the SAAB 92 is shown to the press.
1949: Production starts in December.
1950: Delivery of the first customer cars in mid-January. Subsequently two racing teams start in the Monte Carlo Rally with SAAB 92s.
1953: Also on a SAAB 92, Rolf Mellde wins the Swedish Championship. This is followed by the first model update, name change to 92B.
