“Bertie” … unusual and eye-catching German A class motorhome coachbuilt by Tabbert on a galvanized Al-Ko chassis with independent suspension all round.. The underside is rust-free and most probably in better condition than many a 10 year old vehicle.
Powered by the “bulletproof” 2. 3 Peugeot diesel engine with chain-driven cam (no need for timing belts to be changed) with only 106000 kms (66000 miles) on the clock after 31 years.
The gearbox is excellent with nice crisp action.
The inside of the vehicle is watertight and exceptionally roomy & spacious with a lot of height (I’m 6’2” and can always stand upright) but the big surprise is the sheer amount of vision through the windows from the driver or passenger seat... it’s like sitting in an armchair in your living room with the outside world passing by in Cinemascope.

“Bertie” is LHD, does not have PAS or ABS, and was first registered in the UK in 2004.
