1968 Ford Cortina based Spartan Kit Car with Ford 1600GT engine and four speed gearbox. The kit was bought in 1980 and dry stored for 25 years before being completed in 2007. Completed and registered with DVLA in 2007, correctly showing on the registration document as a Spartan. The car is registered with DVLA as being a new car built using old parts, which means that it is on a 2007 plate (GD07 ZFT), but is MOT tested as a 1968 car so is exempt from the emissions test. The car is MOT’d until July 2014 and taxed until the end of June 2014. Having only 1 previous owner, the car was built by a retired mechanic to a good standard, so starts and runs very well. The car has always been garaged and has only been out on dry days. It comes complete with wet weather gear (brand new hood, only put on to check it fits correctly and side screens)and 5 virtually brand new tyres (there is a matching spare which needs a thinner tyre to fit). I have owned the car for 2 years and it has only covered approximately 700 miles since the build was completed in 2007, I have the old MOTs to show this. I also have the original brochure for the kit together with the original receipt for the cost of the kit and original build instructions from the Spartan factory. I have had no problems with the car and it has sailed through MOTs with only minor points needing attention, as you would expect with a car of this age. I’m selling the car as I don’t have the time to spare to properly enjoy it.
