My father's car - a 1973 Austin 1800 - is now for sale following his death earlier this month. My dad bought the car in 1981 and it has been extremely well looked after since then. Prior to that there were two owners.
The bodywork is immaculate with not so much as a spot of rust and mechanically it is very sound as he was forever tinkering with it.
It is slightly modified inside (see pics) and could do with a new driver's seat, but it would not take an enthusiast too long to put it back to something approaching its original condition.
MOT Oct 2014, tax exempt.
The mileage is really anyone's guess however, as it had a new engine in the late 1980s and when he altered the dashboard he didn't retain the original odometer reading. If I had to estimate I'd say it's done about 100, 000 on this engine but that really would be a guess! In the past 10 years or so it has covered very low miles between MOTs however.
I have two boxes full of MOT certificates and receipts for work going back a long time.
