As you can see from the pictures this car really does capture the look and feel of the 70's! She sounds superb and pulls really well. With the high gearing she is more than capable of coping with (and out-performing) modern traffic. Recently passed its MOT with no advisories.
The interior is very original and in extremely good condition throughout. The seat frames are 100% (often weak on these).
The chassis is also totally sound with absolutely no welding required.
Wheels are in excellent order and tyres are pretty much as new.
The chrome is excllent with the mirrors, bumpers and wheel nuts being in 'as new' condition.
All electrics work aside from the rear screen wash but I'll try to fix this over the next day or so. The fuel gauge only reads up to 1/ 3rd of a tank but again, I'll have a look to see if it's a simple fix. It even has the original 8-Track radio which works although I haven't tested it with a tape!
Mechanically everything performs as it should including the overdrive. The Essex lump pulls effortlessly with excellent oil pressure. The only criticism is the transmission which is a bit noisy in the lower gears. We've lived with it as it's not so intrusive and with the torquey V6 you're soon up into 4th in any case. She does come with a spare gearbox + overdrive if you felt the need to remedy this although from a reliability point of view I would jump in it now and drive it anywhere.
The colour of the car suits it a treat but the finish is poor (not obvious in the pictures). She looks superb from 5 paces but every panel has micro-blistering with some being worse than others. It does mean you don't have to be paranoid about protecting the paint (I prefer cars you can actually use!) but if you want it to be a show winner think along the lines of a total re-paint.
I'd always promised myself a Scimitar and had hoped to keep this car for a long time. Unfortunately out growing family (two young babies) means it's just not practical enough for us and won't get the use it deserves.
Open to sensible offers.
