1971 Volvo 144s, colour dark blue, mot (expires 6-1-2016... passed mot no advisorys, clean sheet), tax exempt (historic vehicle).
mileage showing 52530 (no previous history to prove low miles)
The engine is a B20B 1986CC with factory twin stromberg carbs fitted, 4 speed gearbox (no overdrive)
I have a email from the Volvo factory in Sweden stating all correct serial numbers for the, chassis, type, model, colour 96, engine, gearbox and body number. dispatched from Sweden 13th april 1971 to Volvo concessionaires ltd in Marlow uk.
I have owned this car for 7 years since 2008 and has the following work
completed in my ownership;
1. new battery,
2. 4 tyres
3. complete exhaust system
5. water pump and hoses
6. new brake pads and hand brake shoes.
7. all new flexible brake hoses front and rear
8. both full length front to rear brake pipes
9. near side and off side upper/ outer and lower/ outer wishbone joints
10. both front steering tie rod bars/ joints assys
11. complete new handbrake cable set
12. new rear shock absorbers
13. new front shock absorbers
14. new rear coil springs
15. servo kit fitted
16. front anti roll bar bushe
17. new thermostat
Any inspection welcome by a AA or RAC engineer, I have a 4 post vehicle ramp/ lift available for the inspection.
The paint work needs attention and is dull and rusty/ patchy, lower outer door skin bottoms tatty and around the rust around the windscreen corners and front wings around headlights, the drivers seat has some splits, and the rear seat backrest was replaced (due to sun damage)with a black coloured seat as this was the best available at the time, also the boot rubber seal requires refitting or replacing and the front door rubbers need replacing. this is a honest list of work completed.
The Price is £1950. 00 ... will be sold as a ongoing restoration project, No day out test drivers please, this is a 43 years old car and has been treated with care in my ownership.
