Mazda produced a limited run of these cars to celebrate 12 months of sales in the UK - it was the first UK sold MX5 to be produced in British Racing Green and had a set of OZ alloy wheels specific to the car. Other luxuries (at the time) included Electric Windows , Power Steering and Leather seats.
This is a 4 previous owner car with full documented history including comments from these owners. It has led a very 'sheltered' life , covering an average of only 2500 miles p. a.(62500 miles over 25 years from new) and has always been garaged. In fact it has not seen rain in my current ownership !
Original paintwork (Professionally Detailed ) - Still has it's Leather document holder and Limited Edition Certificate - Also an April '91 'Car' Magazine with Road Test of this model and an Original Sales Brochure .
I have owned car since October 2013 during which time (over c. 1500 miles ) it has undergone further extensive care and refurbishment, the main details as follows.
Annual scheduled servicing inc. new Cam Belt / Water Pump / new Magnecor HT leads and Iridium Plugs / Gearbox and Diff. oil changes / Pipercross Air Filter / New Clutch Slave Cylinder / Brake and Clutch Fluid replaced .
New MX5 parts stainless exhaust and Decat pipe (legal on '91 UK MX5's).
New brake discs / pads / rear calipers / stainless braided hoses.
Refurbished Stub axles/ new Front W/ Bearings / New Top and Bottom Balljoints.
New Front Top wishbone arms and Rear Bottom Wishbone Arms / Refurbished Front Bottom wishbone arms and Rear Top wishbone arms plus all new OE rubber bushes and fixings (Alignment Bolts etc etc) - followed by a Hunter 4 wheel Alignment.
Extensive Waxoyle / Dinitrol / ACF 50 treatment to all box sections and underbody.
Refurbished and decoded original Clarion Radio Cassette.
The list is endless and really needs a proper discussion and a full viewing of this remarkable Mk1 to confirm how good it is.
Full HD pictures are available on request.
This is a very reluctant sale. I searched for a long time for an original well sorted Mk1 MX5 and the work undertaken was on basis that it would be a 'keeper' - however a recurring foot issue makes driving a manual gearbox car very problematic.
Mk1 MX5's are destined to be collectable in the future , that's why I decided on buying a good one (and undertaking the work done) and but for the reason outlined it would be residing in my garage for a long time yet.
If interested give me a call (Jim) on the number listed.
