Lot 56
A 1966 Triumph TR4A, registration number GRW 474D, blue. The Giovanni Michelotti designed TR4, became available in 1965 and remained in production until 1967, when the TR5 launched with the straight six fuel injected engine. The revised A version became available in late 1965 with independent rear suspension, revised grille design, new style chrome side embellishment and other minor styling changes. GRW 474D has been the subject of an extensive body off restoration to a high standard. The coachwork is finished in dark blue and has the desirable Surrey top. The interior has been re-trimmed in cream leather with dark blue piping using Mazda MX-5 seats, contrasting dark blue carpets, Moto-Lite wood rim steel wheel and refurbished teak dashboard. The engine and all running gear have been restored to a similar high standard, with the engine having hardened valves and seals for unleaded petrol compatibility. There is a comprehensive history file accompanying the TR with photographs of the re-build, receipts including a recent bill for new Mini-Lite style alloys and new tyres, past MOTs and sundry paperwork.
