I have for sale my Alpina B10 V8 which is in a very good condition with sensible mileage for the year and maintained to a very high standard.
Power for the B10 V8 is provided by the legendary BMW M62B46 V8. After assembly at BMW the cars were taken to the Alpina factory and the engine was modified by increasing the displacement to 4619 cc, new crankshaft, re profiled camshafts, lighter higher compression Mahle pistons were fitted and a re-programmed engine management system along with re-profiled and ported cylinder head. As a result power was boosted to 342bhp with a claimed 0-60 time of 5. 9 seconds and a top speed over 170mph.
My car was built in February 2001. It has a well recorded history of regular maintenance with the most recent oil service being carried out only around 2, 000 miles ago at the well-respected BMW specialist ETA Motorsport using Castrol Edge Titanium 0w-30 FST.

Virtually brand new Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 tyres are fitted to the front with Continental ContiSport 3 tyres fitted to the rear with plenty of tread left.
The MOT is valid through until 21st June 2018 and there are four green lights showing on the service indicator meaning you will be able to complete many miles before the next service is due.
Thanks to it being well maintained and having covered a sensible mileage for the year, the engine & gearbox are superb and the car is a fantastic experience to drive, with the V8 emitting a lovely growl under acceleration but is not too intrusive. The car rides and handles very well and the engine and gearbox are smooth giving plenty of power and shifting up/ down cleanly and quickly. Sliding the auto lever into sport or steptronic mode gives the car a more sporty nature making those cross-country drives even more fun. In addition, there are paddle buttons on the exclusive Alpina steering wheel for added convenience and which work particularly well. Overall, the drive feels notably newer it's age.

My Alpina B10 is finished in rare Topaz Blue Metallic with extended black leather upholstery and this combination really suits the iconic and handsome styling of the much loved E39 5-series.
The interior of an E39 is probably one of the finest interiors ever in a mainstream car even compared with modern day vehicles. It is in a very good condition and totally original with barely any signs of wear at all, complete with original tailored Alpina over-mats. This extends to the boot which comes with its own Alpina over mat in immaculate condition. The driver and passenger seats are in a very good condition and the rear seat looks as though it has hardly ever been used. Like many E39s there are a tiny number of pixels missing on the LCD display although as visible from the photos this is very minor. All electrical items are working including the sunroof, seats, windows, rear blind, heated seats etc. The only feature that does not currently work is the TV function which requires a digital tuner. The Sat Nav and all other functions associated with the in-car media unit work perfectly such as the GPS Sat. Nav., computer, DSP etc.
It rides on genuine BMW LA parallel spoke 82 alloys which are in an ‘as new’ condition having recently been refurbished at the well-renowned Lepsons Alloy Wheel refurbishment specialist.
As can be seen in the pictures, the bodywork is in a very good condition and free of corrosion. For example, there is none on the usual troublesome places such as the front wings or fuel filler cap. There are a handful of stone-chips with the majority of these being around the nose but none of these are corroded. The front bumper does have three small cracks in it just below the headlights on the nearside. I point these out for full transparency. They are virtually unnoticeable until you’re giving it a good detail but please let me know if you’d like some photos. The rear bumper is very good with no marks. I am being thorough about the bodywork as compared to 95% of other E39s out there, I am confident my car is superior.
I am using my car on a daily basis and it’s a wrench to let her go but I need something more practical for the daily commute and have recently ordered a new 1-series.
Good E39s are becoming increasingly rare and these Alpinas are an awesome variation on what was a fantastic starting point. I’d love to see this lovely old girl go to a good home.
