Here for sale we have a rebuilt lightweight, onto a galvanised chassis. In addition to this, the vehicle has been retro fitted with a diesel 2495cc Land Rover® engine - so it goes really well and is a little more economical. The gearbox is a super strong series 2a type - which has just been fully reconditioned.
As an early lightweight, the tax exemption and MOT exemption is a nice extra..... and should they be wanted, vintage plates can be added.
Externally, this lightweight sports the usual "nice to see" items...... bridging plate, military bumperettes front and rear, soft top, wheel on bonnet, military running lights etc etc.
The inside is nice and standard too, with flyscreens, grab handles and period dash.
Out on the road, this lightweight goes as good as it looks...... period looks and charm but a rebuilt and modified vehicle that trundles along much better than standard, giving improved power and economy. The diesel engine fires up very nicely and sounds nice too, and coupled with the rebuilt gearbox it feels nice to drive. The improved suspension helps too by being more compliant than standard springs!
If you are looking for a good lightweight, with a galvanised chassis and the benefit of better power and economy, whilst retaining period charm, then this is worth considering.
