Wow! You don't see many UK spec RA28 Celicas for sale but here is your chance to own a stunning example!!
This one has been fully restored, bare-metal respray to a very high standard during 2016 and shows no marks or wear anywhere on the body.
The running gear is excellent, gearbox, clutch, engine, all new electrical parts replaced with genuine Toyota brand new stock (leads, plugs, coil, dizzy cap... everything).
The car has regular oil changes to keep the engine good and a mature non-smoker owner; it's not been thrashed.
The interior is in excellent shape with all original GT seats, silver dash, mint condition door cards, and basically a very nice example.
This is now marked as an Historic Vehicle on the V5 Document so no tax and as of May 2018 will no longer require an MOT, even though right now it has a long one and passed with no advisories!
This car sounds like an earthquake moving along the road, it has a bass tone that sets off car alarms during idle thanks to the stainless exhaust system.
It comes with a supply of neck collars to pass around as this is more than a head turner.
I have owned five Liftback Celica models over the years but this one is by far the best, it drives well and is solid (during bare metal strip there was found only one tiny spot of rust, about half-fist sized, and was surface rust only).
It comes with a set of front coil-overs which cost £950 new and have never been fitted, has the original excellent condition GT Steering wheel (currently turning on a Nardi Classic), and a few bits but not loads of parts. I know all the Celica people in the UK so can point you in their direction for anything you need later on.
This has also a newly fitted restored petrol tank which will give you many years of no leaking (a common fault when tanks become old on these models).
All in all it is an excellent car and a real investment. It's valued as AGREED £30, 000 with Hagerty International Insurance.
Mileage is 97K (Miles as UK spec)
Chrome trims and door handles are 10 out of 10
Bumpers are dent free and 10 out of 10
Rear quarter panel vents are the nicest I have ever seen so again 10 out of 10
It's rolling on a set of Wolfrace Slot Mags from 1977 fully restored and diamond cut, 14 inch, 6. 5 j 114. 3 PCD. Spare wheel is the same type.
This IS a GT and NOT an ST pretending to be a GT. It red-lines where the ST does not and is on the V5 as a GT. There are quite a few wanna' be GT's around but placing a GT badge on a car does not make it perform any better than having the DOHC original engine!
So why am I selling this car? The truth is that I have rarely used it since owning. It's never been out in the rain since in my possession, always garaged, and since being restored covered no more than 500 miles! I love it but sitting in a garage doing nothing make owning the car seem pointless, I rarely find time to enjoy it so it has to go to a new very proud owner who at this time of year can take it to the many classic car shows around the country.
I am NOT going to take stupid offers as this really is a rare opportunity (in all the years I have owned these cars not once have I seen one in this condition) so any crazy calls and I will hang up mid conversation and block your number. I don't have time to waste so unless you are serious I'm not interested. Any test drive will require plastic part of your drivers license.
The photos really don't show off the colour, it's two stage metallic green. It is a Marmite colour for sure but I love it and with the black decals (which can peel off if not to your taste) it works well and really does stand out from the crowd.
The car is based in Salisbury, Wiltshire, now famous for recent news events, but the car is not contaminated by the Russians (even though we all know they didn't do it).
Thanks, Mark.
