Purchased in 1998, non running and with the whole bodywork requiring full restoration, as had been standing outside for a number of years.
Over the years of my ownership, I have fully rebuilt the engine, replacing any worn parts, and had all the frame, bodywork and metalwork stripped and re-painted.
The bike was first registered in the Isle of Man ( there is a continuation 'buff' log book ) and once I had finished the restoration, a MoT certificate was obtained to enable a V5C registration document to be issued with an age related number.
The necessary NOVA paperwork is in place.
The MoT was obtained in February and I assume that the 'tax' will require renewing in March 2019.
The speedometer reads 40700 miles.
The cosmetic parts replaced were the exhaust pipes and seat, the silencers have been re-chromed, together with other brightwork.
I have the windscreen extension, which is not shown on the photographs.
Both tyres are new as is the battery and drive chain.
The wheel rims are original and the chrome is dulled.
The last indication of when the bike was used on the road, is an Isle of Man tax disc which expired in 1978. There is a collection of letters, quotations for parts and receipts relating to the last Isle of Man owner.
As there was no record at DVLA for the bike being used on the mainland, I can only assume that the previous ( local ) owner did not get the bike to go or use it.
