Healey 3000 for sale
Classic garage find.... OK not a barn find but similar principle!
This is a 1962 BJ7 or Austin Healey 3000 mk2 that has come in from the states at some point in its life.
More precisely, according to her heritage certificate, she was originally Colorado Red with a matching Red interior and fitted with wire wheels.
The last owner sadly was unable to complete the restoration, having repaired most of the outer panels. It is the inner body panels that need tackling next. The Chassis looks very solid needing repairs in localised areas leaving the outer sills, floor pans, B pillars and boot floor to do.
The vehicle rolls and is mostly complete, the items that seem to have been lost along the way being the folding roof and gearbox- while most bits are available new these are not but do make occasional appearances on auction sites or boot sales- alternatively run a rally replica hardtop and 5 speed box!
The engine is present and complete but does not match the heritage certificate.
In terms of ID- it appears to have been imported for many years back for restoration and therefore has no V5. It does however have a heritage certificate with a VIN / original body number. The DVLA has a well trodden path that many have followed in acquiring an age related plate.
I have described this little find as honestly as possible and the price reflects the bits that need finding to bring this back to the classic thoroughbred it used to be. I am only selling as while I acquired this with a view to getting stuck in I have to be realistic about the time I have to spend on her.... perhaps you can save it?
