This Rover P6 presents buyers with an incredibly rare opportunity to own an incredibly low mileage example, with just 2 former keepers. Having spent the majority of its life in storage, the vehicle has been very well preserved over the years, making it the perfect candidate for a historical collection, or for those looking for an incredibly rare car.
The History and Paperwork
2 former keepers
Just 31k on the clock
Stored for many years
Recently recommissioned
Well cared for
V5C document present
Handbooks and guides included
Previous MOT certificates
This Rover P6 is certainly a very unique vehicle, thanks to its remarkably low mileage and owner count. It is believed the car went into storage in 1982, where it lay dormant until 2018 when it was taken out of storage and recommissioned for the road. The low mileage is indeed believed to be correct, as the MOT certificate for the year prior shows just 21,139 miles before the car was rested in storage for the following 36 years.
Since acquiring the vehicle following its recommissioning, the current keeper has hardly used the vehicle, instead opting to preserve its original state. Now, the vehicle is ready to go to a new home, where it would make a perfect historic showpiece or unique collection addition.
Included with the vehicle’s paperwork is a large collection of previous invoices detailing work required for the recommissioning process. Also included are previous MOTs to validate the low mileage, along with the V5C document and a selection of handbooks/guides.
The Interior
Original finish
Excellent condition
Classic 70’s interior design
8-track player
Black leather seats
Despite being over fifty years old, the interior of this Rover looks absolutely superb, now showing off its original finish with very few signs of use. The interior embodies everything we love about 70’s interior design, from the retro steering wheel, wooden accents, and of course, the 8-Track.
There are minor signs of wear on the driver’s seat to note, although these are likely more due to the sheer age of the vehicle than usage. The front passenger seat and rear seats, however, appear to have hardly been sat in and look like new. All carpeting and headlining follow suit, with few signs of age.
The interior of this Rover is genuinely like stepping back in time. It even has that “old car” smell to it, the charming musk we have come to associate with British classics. If it weren’t for minor signs of age on the seat, and steering wheel, you could easily be fooled the car had left the production line much more recently.
The Exterior
Beautiful classy styling
Excellent exterior condition
Original finish
Having seldom been exposed to the elements over the years, this Rover P6 is in excellent condition and wears its original paintwork with pride. There are of course minor areas that have been touched up over the years and a dash of patina, as the photos will reflect, but the overall condition of the original finish is superb given the car’s age. All trim pieces and details follow closely, showing no major noticeable defects. The car also sits on its original wheels, with a stunning set of shiny hub caps.
With just a few areas of professional touchup, this Rover could very easily return to its once-perfect exterior finish. It’s a vehicle that certainly won’t look out of place in a classic collection, or on the 1st place podium at a car show.
The Mechanics
3.5L V8
Seldom driven in recent years
Stainless steel exhaust
Requires nothing mechanically
New brake master cylinder
Recored radiator
This beautiful Rover saloon follows the old tradition of hiding a large V8 under the bonnet, giving this executive saloon more than enough power to carry its weight. Although not strictly a performance car by intention, this P6 performs rather surprisingly well and does so whilst singing a beautiful V8 song through its stainless steel exhaust.
Although the vehicle hasn’t been driven much over the years, the car has been maintained as required, as the included paperwork will reflect. Key items to note include new brakes all around, a new exhaust system, new fluids, carburettor refresh, and an ignition switch. Now, the car requires nothing mechanically to be enjoyed by the lucky new owner.
Summary
Superb examples of low mileage classics such as this come along far too rarely, with low-owner, original examples being near impossible to find. As the car has been well cared for following its recommissioning, it will no doubt make the perfect addition to an exquisite collection, or a very special weekend toy.

Superamento immediato dell'offerta
