Recognised around the globe, the VW Transporter has become one of the most loved and desired vehicles since its release back in 1949. This 2nd generation T2 Bay Window is up there with the most sought after and no wonder, it's a cult classic, loved and adored by generations especially here in the UK.
This sublime two-tone, adventure-inspiring wagon left the Hannover factory and went straight to Danbury Conversions Ltd, who added their Devonette campervan trim and thus, Bluebell was born. A more recent conversion by Custom Classic & Retro has replaced Danburys simple conversion plus the original and not-so-speedy 1.6L engine has been replaced by a superb 2007cc Type 1 engine, installed and tuned by specialists Wolfsburg Performance at the cost of £15,000.
Quite frankly, this vintage VW is outstanding. From the gorgeous Pastel White and Niagara Blue paint to the German Square Weave carpet, this Bay window pulls on your heartstrings and draws in thoughts of sunshine-filled freedom and worldwide adventures with your favourite people.

The condition throughout is fantastic, a testament to the quality workmanship carried out and the care the owners have provided since. The custom front seats are a nice addition too, supportive and sporty with matching blue and white leather upholstery. All early generation VW Transporters are attention magnets, from the out-of-the-box factory originals to those that have been customised with various accessories and modifications, all are adored especially here in the UK. This Type 2 is simply fantastic. The two-tone paint looks fresh and bright, with no areas of concern visible. It is gorgeous to look at, a real head turner.
There are very few places this Bay could travel to and not create a crowd. There are a couple of little chips on the bumpers and a couple of indentations on a few of the wheels, things that are really no concern and easily rectified. Without a doubt, this is how a Type 2 should look, original, classy, immaculate. It is a wonderful example of the cult classic.

During our visit, the car was started and manoeuvred a few times to assist with the photography. The 2007cc engine started confidently and ran smoothly. The work carried out by Wolfsburg Performance reached in the region of £15,000, without question no expense was spared with the ambition of creating a capable camper that could keep up with modern-day traffic and complete European tours without the fear of being stranded on the side of the road. The vehicle rumbles exceptionally, providing a superior version of the vintage motors classic notes.

Ammontare dell'offerta

Da £0 a £9,999

Da £10,000 a £49,999

Da £50,000 a £99,999

Superamento immediato dell'offerta
