THE APPEAL
Despite spending the early part of its existence living in the shadow of its predecessor, the E-Type, the XJS has gone to to become an iconic car in its own right and is now regarded as one of the all time great GT cars, becoming a staple amongst collectors and enthusiasts alike.
Later examples, like the one you see here, are without doubt, the ones to go for. Parent company Ford's influence on build quality in the 1990's did great things for Jaguar and by the time the final XJS rolled off the line in 1996, many of the tales of unreliability from the British Leyland era were very much a thing of the past.
Furthermore, the legendary 6.0 V12 powerplant was a rarely ticked special order only option for the 1995 and 1996 model years and for that reason, it is not often that these appear on the market.
Being an import from California means no corrosion for a vehicle of its age. As a result, the XJS is in splendid condition both inside and out, perfect for the coming summer months, or for that trip down to St. Tropez.

Imported from the sunshine state of California in 2018, the Jaguar was registered in the UK in 2018, before moving onto the warmer climates of Spain, where it now resides. The Jaguar is with the same keeper, who is a Jaguar enthusiast and has taken the car to classic events in Portugal, Spain and Morocco to display his wonderful XJS.
THE INTERIOR

The inside of the Jaguar is in stunning condition. The seats are finished in Oatmeal leather which show little signs of any wear both to the front and rear. The front seats are electric and working as they should.
Behind the wheel of the XJS, you are faced with the original steering wheel, which is in good order, and the instruments sit behind the scratch-free panel. These are reported to be working as they should, with the odometer showing a reading of 91,654 miles, slightly higher than when the photographs were taken. The switchgear in the vehicle is reported to be working as it should, and the switches are in good condition with no excessive wear to them. The only thing the seller has pointed out is that sometimes the passenger window does blow a fuse.
The carpets are also in good condition, with a set of mats fitted to protect them. Inside the boot, the CD Multi-changer, wheel brace, jack and spare wheel are all present and correct, and there is also a new battery.
THE EXTERIOR

Finished in Ice Blue Metallic, the paintwork on the Jaguar presents well. Starting at the front of the car, there are some stone chips on the leading edge of the bonnet which are in keeping with the age and mileage of the vehicle. The headlights are in good order with no chips to mention, as are the indicators. Again there are a few small chips to the bumper and lower valance as to be expected.
Around to the long flanks of the XJS, there are no dings to spoil the smooth lines of the XJ. The doors align as they should with an equal panel gap, and the chrome work around the windscreen and side windows are in good order. The roof opens and closes as it should, which is in excellent condition and, when closed, is nice and tight. Once lowered, there is a matching Oatmeal tonneau cover to finish off the look.
To the rear, the Jaguar has the factory fitted boot spoiler, and there are a couple of small scratches towards the centre of the bumper. The later style darker tail lights are in good condition with no splits to them. Sitting on the original diamond cut, 'Turbine' alloys - an option only available on the 6.0 V12, the wheels are in good condition with just a few small age-related marks, and the tyres are in good condition.
THE MECHANICS

The mighty 6.0 litre V12 is as smooth as silk and fires up as you would expect, coming to a smooth idle. The seller reports that the vehicle runs just as it should, with no untoward noises coming from the engine. Whilst the Jaguar has been in the seller's ownership, he has ensured it has been kept in fine fettle with replacement parts fitted such as the air conditioning compressor, radiator and some of the suspension bushes, as well as regular servicing.
The car is reported to pull strongly through the 4-speed GM automatic gearbox, with the change being smooth as you would expect, and for those long journeys, there is the cruise control, which is working as it should.
SUMMARY
A well presented 1995 Jaguar XJS 6.0 V12 which was one of the last models produced. The car came from California in 2018, which has helped keep it in excellent condition, as you can see from the splendid Oatmeal leather to the Ice Blue Metallic paintwork.
Now residing in Spain, the big cat is looking for a new home. The seller has mentioned he can assist with the transportation of the vehicle to any UK mainland address at an additional cost.
