The Background

The XK designed by Fergus Pollock as a competitor to the Aston Martin DB7 was a hugely popular GT car produced from 1996-2006.
It's origins can be traced back to Jaguar's abandoned XJ41/42 or 'F Type' project of the 1980s, which rather ironically, was reborn as the DB7 in later years.

It was available in a two door convertible or coupe and was initially launched with Jaguar's brand new AJ26 V8, in naturally aspirated 4.0 flavour. The supercharged 4.0 XKR was followed in 1998 with larger BBS wheels and Jaguars own CATS adaptive suspension. The maker then introduced the larger 4.2 litre V8 supercharged power plant in 2002.
Further revisions followed in spring 2004, with the addition of quad exhaust tips and a redesigned grille.

Electronically limited to 155 Mph and equipped with 255/35/20 and 285/30/20 tyres to the front and rear respectively, the XKR was well equipped for spirited driving and would shame most cars on the road of its time.

While being reviewed on Top Gear, Jeremy Clarkson likened the interior to ‘Sitting inside Blenheim Palace due to its lashings of quality leather and burl walnut trim.

The History

Acquired in May 2021 by its current owner, it has had 6 previous owners, the first believed by the vendor to be Jaguar themselves.

First registered on the 26-5-04 in Coventry CV59DR and remained in the area most of its life.

The Paperwork

This car comes with a pleasing amount of paperwork including a vast amount of previous and clean MOT records.

Service history contains 9 stamps and is likely ‘incomplete’ due to periods of covering very little miles.

It is to be noted the current owner has just completed a full-service using MANN filters and replaced the spark plugs also.

The current MOT expires on the 26/5/2022

The Interior

Adorned with beautiful, tight, cream leather and dark burl walnut, the interior even compared to today’s standards is of superior quality.

Three dials including voltage, clock and oil pressure are in the center at a level to see at a glance surrounded in walnut and a polished trim. The center console is trimmed in cream leather, and the gear shifter in black leather.

Alpine speakers ensure that if for some reason you don’t want to listen to the fabulous V8 and supercharger whine, you can listen to your favorite tunes in high quality. Heated seats too are a nice touch along with air conditioning keeping you comfortable whatever the weather may be doing that particular day.

The new ‘A’ pillar trim and roof lining had been fitted just days before the pictures were taken due to some imperfections and this has been replaced superbly.

The Exterior

A stunning Platinum silver (paint code MDZ) adorns the exterior of this XKR and clearly has been cared for. The current owner has just treated it to a full machine polish and it really does look the part and from what we could see, likely totally original and blemish free.

Some of the black window surrounds do have some minor blistering under the coating.

The 20'' 'Detroit' BBS split rim wheels are finished in silver with a polished lip. While they are in a presentable condition, the owner informed us they have been repainted in the past but perhaps not to the standard they deserve, that said, they do look very well and shiny. The brake calipers tucked neatly behind the large wheels are painted in a vibrant red, sporting the ‘R’ logo on both the front and rear calipers.

Reflectors and indicator lenses have been changed for a clear alternative (orange ones provided with sale) which gives the car a nice updated look and defiantly do not look modified or out of place.

The quad exhausts out back are the real give away to this cat’s real power and are clean, shiny and original.

The Mechanics

As one can see by the pictures, this is a beautifully cared for example, not just on the outside. The car has been meticulously gone over by its current owner. Benefiting from a thorough service and we were informed that the underside, especially the exhaust looks like new. The sound of the V8 is smooth and creamy, shifting gears beautifully when maneuvered.

The brakes look in good condition and suggests an easy life.

Under the large-vented bonnet lurks a muscular V8 with 400bhp. This looks very clean indeed. No obvious leaks or issues. The nuts and bolts are all in tip-top condition along with all the visible hoses and looms. Plastic covers and trims are a nice dark black and unbroken. The current owner has just replaced the scuttle tray nut covers and the adaptive suspension caps.

The Appeal

With 400bhp and a luxury interior that will rival most manufacturers out there, the ability to exceed 150mph and 0-60 in under 6 seconds, really what's not to like?

XK Jaguars have a large following for their performance, looks and notably, the build quality is stunning.

Ammontare dell'offerta Incremento
Da £0 a £9,999 £100.00
Da £10,000 a £49,999 £250.00
Da £50,000 a £99,999 £500.00
£100,000 + £1,000.00

Superamento immediato dell'offerta
